Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF) is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor and prodrug of tenofovir that inhibits both HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and hepatitis B virus (HBV) polymerase. It serves as a backbone agent across antiretroviral regimens and HBV monotherapy. Indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in combination with other antiretroviral agents in adults and paediatric patients, treatment of chronic hepatitis B in adults and adolescents, and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in at-risk adults.
