Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a centrally acting analgesic and antipyretic with minimal anti-inflammatory activity. Its mechanism involves inhibition of central prostaglandin synthesis and modulation of the endocannabinoid system, offering a favourable gastric and cardiovascular safety profile. Indicated for the symptomatic relief of mild-to-moderate pain including headache, migraine, dental pain, musculoskeletal pain, dysmenorrhoea, and post-operative pain, and for the reduction of fever in adults and children.
